Fitted timber joinery in a kitchen

The service

What joinery covers.

This is timber work: doors, frames, repairs, and fitted pieces. We ask what is being replaced and what is staying.

  • Internal and external doors, frames, and ironmongery that is part of the fitting
  • Repairs to rotten, swollen, or damaged timber
  • Fitted shelving, pipe boxing, and straightforward timber work in a room
  • A note of sizes, and whether we are matching existing timber
  • A free quotation that names what is supplied and what you are keeping

How it works

How a joinery job is arranged.

  1. 01

    Describe the timber

Tell us whether it is a door, a frame, a repair, or fitted work, and send a photo if you can.

  2. 02

    Agree what is supplied

We confirm sizes, whether new timber is included, and what stays. The quotation is free.

  3. 03

    Fit and leave it ready

The agreed work is fitted and left ready for decoration, or decorated if that was part of the price.

A joiner planing a timber board

A repair or a new fit

Easing a door and hanging a new one are different jobs. A repair might be a splice, a plane, or new ironmongery. A new door needs a size, a handing, and a decision about the frame. We say which one we are pricing.

If the opening is out of square, or the frame has failed, we will not price a door on its own and hope it fits. That extra work is named first.

Alongside other trades

Joinery often sits between plastering and decorating. Door linings, window boards, and boxing need to be in before the decorator finishes. If you want more than one trade, we put them in order in the quotation.

When to call

When to talk to us.

Call when doors, frames, or other timber need repairing or replacing.

  • A door that will not close, or a frame that has failed
  • A new internal door and lining
  • Rotten timber that needs cutting out and replacing
  • Shelving, boxing, or other fitted timber in a room being refurbished

FAQ

Questions about carpentry.

Carpentry is arranged across Newcastle, Gateshead, and the North East. A photo of the door or the timber, and a rough size if you have one, helps the first call.

Do you hang doors?

Yes. Door hanging and frame repairs are available across Newcastle, Gateshead, and the North East. Tell us whether the frame is staying.

Do you supply the timber?

When the quotation says we supply it, yes. If you have already bought a door or a board, tell us the size before we treat the job as supply and fit.

Can joinery be booked with other trades?

Yes. If the room also needs plaster or decorating, we put them in order in one quotation and name what is included.
